Venue Details
Cuppacumbalong is an historic property on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River. Built in the early 1920’s the homestead could be the ideal location for your next conference, retreat, or gathering with family and friends. The site has been a meeting place for thousands of years, with more recent history seeing it as a place for forging families and industry. Since 1850 it has played an important part in Canberra life, including hosting Queen Elizabeth II on Valentines Day 1954. Today it is a making venue in a broad sense of the word – making with your hands, making with your team, making with your head and heart.
Cuppacumbalong Homestead is an easy 30 minute drive from Canberra CBD. Once on site, you disconnect from that urban existence and are immersed in history and country. The homestead offers an extensive, naturally light interior with multiple spaces for the whole team, small group discussions or solo reflection nooks. The gardens and river offer a unique aspect for the day with opportunities to build team relationships in a natural, uninterrupted setting. A large stretch marquee is also available.
This is an all-in-one venue for meetings, conferences and other occasions whether they are held over a few hours or several days. Your event will be packaged to suit your desired outcomes. Catering can be done in house with a menu created reflecting your teams individual needs and your budget. Please note: Cuppacumbalong does not hire the venue for Weddings / 18th Birthdays / 21st Birthdays - other special occasions upon application and at the discretion of the management.
Overnight team retreats can also be considered. The Homestead and 1890-1900’s Coach House can accommodate up to 13 in shared facilities. Cuppacumbalong's staff can facilitate sessions, if required, and are tailored with you prior to your event.
You are most welcome to arrange an inspection to examine our facilities first hand. As a heritage listed property, you may be eligible to receive an ACT Environment Heritage Grant to assist with the cost of hosting your function at our venue.
