Just 30 minutes from Canberra, Cuppacumbalong is a historic 1920s homestead set on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River. With both elegant indoor spaces and expansive gardens, you can create a meaningful celebration of life - whether in the homestead itself or outdoors, all surrounded by nature. Our venue provides a serene and secluded environment for farewells.
The beautifully restored homestead comfortably hosts up to 100 guests, while the gardens offer space for quiet reflection and room for children to move and explore. We understand that every farewell is deeply personal. Whether you are planning an intimate gathering or a larger memorial, the property is exclusively yours for the day - private, unhurried, and removed from the noise of the city.
Cuppacumbalong combines historic charm with modern comfort. We offer audio-visual equipment, ample free parking, and on-site accommodation, along with a range of in-house catering options including morning teas, light lunches, and afternoon teas. Our team will work closely with you to ensure everything suits your needs and budget.
For those travelling from afar, The Cottage accommodates up to eight guests, allowing family and friends to stay overnight without the need to rush away.
Families are also welcome to bring their own beer, wine and spirits, helping to keep the occasion relaxed and affordable. With wide open grounds, a riverside setting, and space to gather at your own pace, Cuppacumbalong offers a place that feels both grounding and memorable.

We work with Narelle Phillips of Brave Botanics — a florist who specialises in bespoke, seasonal arrangements inspired by the landscape and the person being remembered. The arrangements are tailored to your preferences, colour palette and style, created within a sustainable practice. They offer an opportunity to pause, reflect, celebrate.
